Why Engagement Sessions Are A Must

Congrats! If you’re reading this, I assume that you are engaged and are either in the thick of wedding planning or just starting to dive in. This is a huge milestone in your life and I am so glad to be sharing my thoughts and tips with you! One of the fun parts of wedding planning and prepping for one of the best days of your life is… yep you guessed it… and engagement session! They are so important to do for so many reasons, some of which I’m about to name.(;

So let’s go ahead and dive into it, shall we?

01. GREAT DATE NIGHT

Engagement sessions are SUPER fun. I mean, who doesn’t love frolicking around with their favorite person in a stunning location? There’s a lot of laughter, smiles, and bliss. This makes it into such a fun date night paired with grabbing dinner afterward. It also gives you an excuse to get all dressed up! Break out that outfit you’ve been dying to wear- take your hair out of the messy bun and throw some waves into it!

02. YOU GET TO KNOW YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

This is a huge one. Booking an engagement session with your wedding photographer not only allows you to be more comfortable with them but, it also allows them the same with you! We can get used to your personality, dynamic, and what poses and prompts work best for you! All of this allows you and your photographer to go into your wedding day ready to take some bomb photos!

03. BECOMING COMFORTABLE WITH THE CAMERA

Becoming comfortable with the camera is something a lot of people struggle with. Learning how to pose with a partner and having fun with the camera is all part of getting comfortable. Your photographer will help you out with this by giving you prompts that create movement and loosen you up from that stiff uncomfortable smile we all get!

04. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR HAIR AND MAKEUP

An engagement session is a trial run for your hair and makeup! Use it as an opportunity to test out your hair and make up artists (or your own skills) to see what you’d like your hair and make up to look like on your wedding day!

05. USE THE PHOTOS FOR YOUR INVITES

Lastly, when you start planning your wedding chances are, you will want to display photos of you and your other half. Engagement photos are great for wedding invitations, save the dates, and decor at your wedding! It’s important to sprinkle some cute, fun photos of you and your hunny for your wedding day.
